Samantha Coronel

I was born in the city of Lanús, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

From an early age I showed an interest and an inclination for the arts and dance. At the age of 13 I was accepted to study at the Manuel Belgrano School of Fine Arts where I studied and immersed myself in the world of art. At the end of my initial studies, I entered the Prilidiano Pueyrredón teaching school.

Already immersed and settled in the world of art and with experience dancing Rock & Roll socially, Tango came into my life. I was entrapped by its feelings of calm, nostalgia and the mixture of enjoyment and disciplined technique. It led me to take up other disciplines such as ballet, pilates, pole dance, tap and swing in parallel. I have now spent more than two decades in the professional world of Tango, developing myself professionally in different areas .

What drives me as an artist is freedom of expression; being able to show the sensitivity, temperance and nostalgia that I have experienced through my studies and practice of both dance and art.

As a teacher my main interest is to motivate and to transmit vocation, discipline and sensitivity in the process of education. Facilitating experimentation and discovery of one's self through art. I am convinced that the teachings of art can change our lives.

I consider my art works a passage of great transparency that is born from deep within. My hope is that a person contemplating my art can connect directly with my inner state. At present, I am experimenting with contrasting colours, flat spaces and straight lines and using nature as a visual stage for expression.
